Asus launched the Verizon-exclusive Zenpad Z8S tablet in the U.S. It was first launched at the Computex 2017 event held in Taipei in May 2017. The Zenpad Z8S comes with the unibody metal design and packs mid-range specifications. As of now, there is no information about the international availability of this tablet. The Zenpad Z8S tablet will be retailing at $250 without any commitments, and the users can also opt for the 24-month contract at $10.41 per month. While the tablet market is shrinking, there are few brands trying to capture the market share with their new tablets. Apple is the only major tablet manufacturer to see some growth in the tablet market.
Talking about the Zenpad Z8S, it sports a 7.9-inch IPS display offering QXGA (2048 x 1536 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the 64-bit Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz and comes coupled with Adreno 510 GPU & 3GB of RAM. Considering the tablets are mostly used for media consumption, the Zenpad Z8S offers just 16GB of onboard storage. At the Computex event, the company has announced the 3GB and 4GB RAM variants with 32GB and 64GB of storage respectively. However, it comes with a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion up to 128GB.

It runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with the heavily customized ZenUI laid on top. It includes a pre-installed SIM card for taking advantage of the Verizon 4G LTE network. There is a 13MP sensor on the rear and a 5MP sensor on the front for selfies and video calls. It is backed by a 4,680mAh non-removable battery that is rated to last up to 300 hours on standby mode. Beneath the display is the physical home button and two capacitive navigation buttons. The power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge, while the MicroSD card slot can be found on the left edge.
Alongside the Zenpad Z8S, the company also announced the ZenPad 10 tablet at the Computex. It comes with a 10-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display and is powered by MediaTek quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz. In the camera department, the Zenpad 10 features a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera. Stay tuned on technical fuse for more details about the upcoming tablets!
